Opis
The common name Triphala includes the Mirabalano Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), the Mirabalano
Behara (Terminalia bellerica) and Indian Gooseberry – Amla (Phyllanthus emblica).
Mirabalanovac Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is an evergreen tree native to southern Asia, from India to Nepal. Pharmacologically active substances that have been isolated from Haritaki mirabalanica are anthraquinones, gallic acid, chebulinic and chebulagic acid, ellagic and etaedioic acid, terpenes, terpinenols.
The Mirabalanovac Behara (Terminalia bellerica) is a large white bitter tree widespread in the plains and lower highlands of South Asia. Among the pharmacologically active substances from this plant, anthraquinones and gallic acid were isolated.
Indian gooseberry – Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) is a deciduous tree grown in many parts of Asia, mostly in India and China. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years as a powerful antioxidant because it is rich in vitamin C (approx. 445mg/100g) and tannin (45%). It also contains flavonoids, lipids and other essential oils.
All three components of Triphala have slightly different effects in different conditions, and it has been proven that a mixture of myrabalanics is much more effective than either of them alone.
Solaray Triphala contains equal proportions of three types of myrabalanic acid and is standardized to 42% tannin. It is recommended to use for a longer period of time in a dose of three times a day
